last updated 2 July 2008 http://www.musabi.ac.jp/e-home/college/jpaint.html From the Musashino Art University. "Hayashi Makiko, Mujima no izumi (Mujima Spring) Do you believe in miracles? How about the power of one person to change the world? Well, now's your chance. Love without Boundaries Mama's Wish is looking for sponsors for 55 high school girls who have qualified to go to college through hardwork and perseverance (something all adoptive parents know quite a bit about). "Recently, 55 students graduated from high school and took the college entrance exams. Love Without Boundaries is hoping to support each student who is accepted to college in their quest for a higher education. Due to their extreme poverty, Mama's Wish college students receive support for tuition, class fees, room and board, books, tutor if needed, school supplies, technology needs, and travel expenses between their remote villages and their universities. A modest monthly stipend is also provided for additional living expenses such as clothing and necessary personal items. Sponsorships for college students are $1350 per year, and donations in any amount are appreciated!" A college education for under $2000/yr. Now that's a bargain. Take a look, tell a friend, tell your church or adoption group...don't just sit there....do something! Isn't that how most miracles get started? (It's called prayers with feet...) I worked my way through college, and am now saving for seven more college educations. If it's important to those who don't live in abject poverty, think how much more important it is to these girls. (Correction - Love without Boundaries is looking for sponsors for 54 girls...I just signed up for another one. If I can do it so can you... so...what are you waiting for? A miracle?) Where to find adoption info: 1) Find out if there is a yahoo adoption group for it. Karen at Karen’s adoption links, keeps track of just about every yahoo group and webpage that pertains to international adoption. If there is an adoption program there is usually a corresponding adoption group. Join it, or several, and do your primary research there. Some countries, such as Russia, even have particular provinces that have groups. Some countries, such as Ukraine and Russia even have adoption groups for independent adoption, or even a specific orphanage. 2) Go to the US State Department webpage on Intercountry Adoption and read their latest update. Sometimes the updates are old, but in the more popular countries, such as the ones in Eastern Europe, they are usually pretty up to date with their info. 3) Google it! I love Google.com because it’s low on the advertising and high on content. You can use it for text, or if you want something really specific, like a certain orphanage, check out their Image search. It’s how I found a lot of Russian orphanages. 4) If the link is dead check out the “Way Back Machine”. Use the primary link (i.e. up to the .com or .org) and then hit enter. You can usually find what you want (I’d say up to 90% of the time). 5) Don’t be afraid to google in a different language. If the country you are interested in (such as some of the North African countries, or Eastern African Countries) that don’t have many adoptions for Americans, they probably adopt to the country that had them as a colony for a number of years. I found a lot of French yahoo groups for places such as Morocco, Mauritiaus, etc. Use a good on-line translator such as Bablefish. The one I use a lot is http://www.translate.ru/eng (only because I searched a lot of Russian sites for orphanage and adoption information.)
